The booking fee will be refunded to the payer after the student has completed their course in full and received their course certificate.

The 22453 (NETS) Battery Storage Design & Installation course consists of two main components:

  1. Online theory completed at students’ own pace with tutor support.
  2. A face-to-face (5 days) practical component held at the training facility of Energy Training Group.

This training will give you the skills and knowledge to become a Battery Storage designer and installer and is the pathway to Battery + Grid PV Design & Install Endorsement with Clean Energy Council  .

To enrol in this course you must:

Energy Training Group is a Nationally Recognised Training Organisation, and students who successfully complete this course will be issued a Statement of Attainment for the units of competency VU22123, VU22125, UEERE4001.

Training Outcome

Successful completion of the course will award the Student with a Statement of Attainment in the current version of the following Units of Competency

VU22123

Undertake site assessment for installation of a grid-connected renewable energy generation system

VU22125

Design a grid-connected battery storage system to meet client requirements.

UEERE4001

Install, maintain and fault find battery storage systems for grid-connected photovoltaic systems

Upon successful completion of the course, students will be eligible to apply to the Clean Energy Council for the Design & Installation of Battery Storage accreditation.

An electrical licence is a prerequisite for enrolment in this course. This course builds on the knowledge of the Grid-Connected PV Systems Design and Install course, so a prerequisite for enrolment is a Statement of Attainment in the following Units of Competency:

  • UEENEEK125A: Solve basic problems in photovoltaic energy apparatus and systems.
  • UEENEEK135A: Design grid connected photovoltaic power supply systems.
  • UEENEEK148A: Install, configure and commission LV grid connected photovoltaic power systems.

Or a Statement of Attainment in the following Units of Competency if you do not have a Statement of Attainment in above units:

  • UEERE0011: Design grid-connected photovoltaic power supply systems.
  • UEERE0016: Install configure and commission LV grid-connected photovoltaic power systems.
  • UEERE0022: Solve basic problems in photovoltaic energy apparatus and systems.

This course used two delivery methods:

  1. Online theory completed at students’ own pace.
  2. 5-day face-to-face practical component held at an Energy training Group Training Facility

Online component: The time to complete the online component will differ between students, but students should expect to commit around 84 hours (60 hours for online content and assessments, and 24 hours for the design task).

Practical component: 5-day face-to-face practical component held at an Energy training Group Training Facility. The workshops will include a review of online content to ensure you obtain a thorough understanding of all design and theoretical knowledge, and cover all the practical requirements and assessment for the course, including installation of Battery Storage Systems.

The validation period of the Courses is twelve (12) months. Extension fees will apply from the date of expiry, and the maximum extension period allowed is six (6) months from the date of expiry.

This training is funded by Solar Victoria as part of the Training and Workforce Development package.

This funded training program closes on 31.03.2023 therefore needs to be successfully completed for the course to be fully subsidised.
