Battery Storage Systems for Grid-Connected PV Systems Install Only

Battery Storage Systems for Grid-Connected PV Systems Install Only

Fees:
$1,695

Units:
UEERE0054, UEERE0077 and UEERE0078

Course Duration:
Online Self-paced & 2 Days Face-to-Face Course

The Battery Storage Systems for Grid-Connected PV Systems: Install only Course consists of two main components:
  1. Online theory completed at students’ own pace with tutor support.
  2. A face-to-face (2 days) practical component held at an Energy Training Group Training Facility.

The delivery mode of this course is designed for busy tradespeople who do not have the time to attend lengthy face-to-face courses to expand their knowledge and skills: the fully flexible web-based format of the online component allows students to complete the theory in their own time.

To enroll in this course, you must be a licensed electrician and have previously completed the units of competency UEENEEK125A and UEENEEK148A or have completed the units of competency UEERE0011 and UEERE0016. Students who successfully complete all components of the course will receive a Statement of Attainment for the unit of competency UEERE0054, UEERE0077 and UEERE0078.

Training Outcome

Successful completion will result in the award of a Statement of Attainment in the current version of the following Unit of Competency:

UEERE0054
Conduct site survey for grid-connected photovoltaic and battery storage systems
UEERE0077
Install battery storage equipment power conversion equipment to grid
UEERE0078
Install battery storage to power conversion equipment
Upon successful completion of the course, students will be eligible to apply to the Solar Accreditation Australia for the Installation of Battery Storage accreditation.

An electrical licence is a prerequisite for enrolment in this course. This course builds on the knowledge of the Grid-Connected PV Systems Install only course, so a prerequisite for enrolment is a Statement of Attainment in the following Unit of Competency:

  • UEENEEK148A: Install, configure and commission LV grid connected photovoltaic power systems.
  • UEENEEK125A: Solve basic problems in photovoltaic energy apparatus.

Or a Statement of Attainment in the following Units of Competency if you do not have a Statement of Attainment in above units:

UEERE0011: Design grid-connected photovoltaic power supply systems.

UEERE0016: Install configure and commission LV grid-connected photovoltaic power systems.

This course uses two delivery methods:

  • Online theory completed at students’ own pace with tutor support.
  • A face-to-face (2 days) practical component held at an Energy Training Group Training Facility.

Online component: The time to complete the online component will differ between students, but students should expect to commit around 36 hours.

Practical component: Approximately 60% of the online assessments must be completed before attending the face-to-face practical component.

Courses are valid for twelve (12) months. Extension fees apply from the date of expiry, and the maximum extension permitted is six (6) months from the date of expiry.

Students enrolled in the course get a copy of the book Battery Storage Systems for Grid-Connected PV Systems 2nd Edition from GSES publication. Students can also buy the book following Australian Standards, available for purchase from the SAI Global website or Techstreet website. The book is also available in some libraries, institutions, and industry associations in Australia:

  • AS/NZS 5139 – Electrical installations – Safety of battery systems for use with power conversion equipment
  • AS/NZS 4777.1 – Grid connection of energy systems via inverters – Part 1: Installation requirements
  • AS/NZS 5033 – Installation and safety requirements for photovoltaic (PV) arrays
  • AS/NZS 3000 – Wiring Rules
  • AS/NZS 3008.1.1 – Electrical installations – Selection of cables

Enrolled students have to make sure they have:

  • Computer with a reliable Internet connection
  • Scientific calculator
  • Email account checked regularly

Our organisation ensures that its education process follows with the guidelines of Australian Quality Framework. We ensure through our courses that we provide quality education to all students and in tune on the following parameters:
