This training will give you the skills and knowledge to become a qualified solar photovoltaic (PV) designer and installer and is the pathway to Clean Energy Council accreditation.

To enrol in this course you must:

Energy Training Group is a Nationally Recognised Training Organisation, and students who successfully complete this course will be issued a Statement of Attainment for the units of competency VU22123, VU22124, UEERE0022, and UEERE0016.

Training Outcome

Successful completion of the course will award the Student with a Statement of Attainment in the current version of the following Units of Competency
VU22123

Undertake site assessment for installation of a grid-connected renewable energy generation system

VU22124
Design a grid connected photovoltaic energy generation system to meet client requirements
UEERE0022
Solve basic problems in photovoltaic energy apparatus and systems
UEERE0016
Install, configure and commission LV grid connected photovoltaic power systems

Upon successful completion of the course, students will be eligible to apply to the Clean Energy Council for the Design & Installation of Grid-Connect PV Systems accreditation

An electrical licence is a prerequisite for enrolment in this course.

Electrical apprentices can also enrol in this course if they have completed the prerequisite Units of Competency (UEENEEE104A, UEENEEE137A, UEENEEG103A, and UEENEEE108A or UEENEEG106A) in their studies OR wait till they are issued their unrestricted electrical licence before being awarded a Statement of Attainment.

This course used two delivery methods:

  • Online theory completed at students’ own pace.
  • 5-day face-to-face practical component held at an Energy training Group Training Facility

Online component: The time to complete the online component will differ between students, but students should expect to commit around 56 hours (40 hours for online content and assessments, and 16 hours for the design task).

Practical component: 5-day face-to-face practical component held at an Energy training Group Training Facility. The workshops will include a review of online content to ensure you obtain a thorough understanding of all design and theoretical knowledge, and cover all the practical requirements and assessment for the course, including installation of Grid-Connected PV systems.

The validation period of the Courses is twelve (12) months.  Extension fees will apply from the date of expiry, and the maximum extension period allowed is six (6) months from the date of expiry.
